9C Update - 7.11.25

A Fantastic First Week Back for 9C!

What a fantastic first week back for 9C! In English, we've kicked off our new paper writing topic with an exciting murder mystery game. Each of us was assigned a character, and we all turned into detectives to solve the mystery. A huge shout-out to Maxx, who played General Lemon and successfully cracked the case! Also, well done to Brooklyn, who took on the role of the murderer—what a performance! The pupils took some excellent notes throughout the activity, which will surely help them with their cold writing task.

In PSHE, we delved into the risks associated with smoking and vaping. The pupils took the initiative to interview their peers and staff, gathering a variety of opinions on the topic, which sparked some really engaging discussions.

Meanwhile, in science, we explored the human body, focusing on the roles of red and white blood cells—fascinating stuff that provided a lot of food for thought!

In art, we prepared for Remembrance Sunday by creating our own poppies. Miss Conroy is all set to hike up to a memorial site on Sunday to lay our artwork and participate in the two minutes' silence on behalf of Year 9. It’s a beautiful way to honour the occasion.

In our careers lesson, we worked on enhancing our communication, speaking, and listening skills. The challenge was to listen carefully to our partners' descriptions and recreate what they described in a picture—definitely trickier than we expected!

A huge congratulations is due to Maxx, Bobby, and Ben for achieving their bronze award this week; they've truly worked hard for this achievement. Also, special recognition goes to Maxx for being our Achiever of the Week! He’s returned to school this week, putting in a tremendous amount of effort into everything he does. Well done, everyone!
