Bowling Blog!

Our Key Stage 4 communication pupils ventured to Hollywood Bowl, Middlebrook in Bolton for the Greater Manchester Bowling Finals, after qualifying in December in the Tameside District competition. Seven of our amazing pupils Faris, Savannah, Steven, Deacon, Lewis, Ellis and Ellie took to the lanes for a very competitive event against 6 other schools from across Greater Manchester. Representing Tameside, Samuel Laycock pupils were raring to go with Deacon stating “We are going to win it Sir” on the way to the event.

Our aim was, as a team, to get the highest possible team score, and that we certainly did. With an amazing performance from Steven who score 106 points himself and an incredible team score of 526, Mr Grainger was confident that we would at least reach the main medals! Unbeknown, the scores came out and our pupils were eagerly waiting to hear the school name, we waited and waited and…………..WE WON!

We now progress into the regionals finals which are due to be held in March/ April! Well done to our amazing pupils who displayed true Samuel Laycock RESPECT values throughout the day! Big thanks to @Panathlon, @OfficialBWITC, @TamesideSSP & @GMMOVING for another fantastic and well run event!
