KS4 Sensory - 3.12.24

Yesterday in PSHE, pupils form the KS4 Sensory pathway focussed on recognising our energy levels and exploring some of the strategies we could use to help us to focus in our lessons.

We started the lesson with attention autism, using items that bounce, pop and fly to represent how we might look or feel when we have a lot of energy.

Next, we sorted different scenarios into whether they were fizzy/ energetic or calm and focused.

After that, we took it in turns to roll the dice, tried out a piece of sensory equipment, then discussed if it helped us to 'power up' or 'power down'.

Finally, we went round the room and took it in turns to try out all of the equipment. With staff support, we looked at if we enjoyed an activity and the impact it had on our energy levels.

As you can see, we had lots of fun testing out some of the new items!

Well done, everyone.
