Performing Arts Blog (4.10.24)

Well, what a bunch of dancers we have in Performing Arts!

Each week, we have been focusing on a different genre of dance. 

We started with ballet, learning the five positions and  then moved on to Street dance.  On Friday, it was the turn of ballroom. 

We channelled our inner Shirley and Craig as we played judge to some classic "Strictly" dances from the last few years, developing our evaluative language and thinking about all the different elements that make up a judge's score. 

We all then learned a simple box step, followed by the footwork for a waltz. 

The pupils have been putting their choreography skills into practice by working in their teams to create a dance for “It’s a Hard Knock Life” for our upcoming Annie Jr production.
