Super Learning Day
Tuesday 4th March was Super Learning Day at school. This time the pupils learned about Islam. We learned about the 5 Pillars of Islam, Shahada, Salah (Prayer), Zakat, Sawm (Fasting) and Hajj (Pilgrimage).
The pupils took part in a pretend Hajj around school and learnt all about Sawm before they made Ramadam fruit balls from high energy dried fruits. To understand the importance of Zakat and charitable giving, they made their own gift boxes and boxed the fruit balls to give them as gifts.
The sports hall was turned into a mosque so pupils could visit and discuss what happens at a mosque and some pupils were lucky enough to visit Ashton Central Mosque and treated to a talk about Islam.
