• Monday 24 November 2025 9S - Week 11 We had another lovely week in 9S.
• Monday 24 November 2025 Another Great Week for 9C What a fantastic week it has been for 9C! In English, we have been diving into story mapping and actions using the Talk for Writing method. This approach is helping us remember the sequence of events, which will be invaluable when we come to innovate our texts.
• Monday 24 November 2025 Digital Pathway Yorkshire Sculpture Park The Digital Pathway had their annual trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
• Friday 21 November 2025 Work Experience - 21.11.25 When the weather gets tough, Samuel Laycock students get going. This week's work experience was forecast to be an experience as the temperatures really dipped the night before.
• Friday 21 November 2025 Breakfast Club - 21.11.25 Our Breakfast club pupils wrapped up warm and braved the bitter cold to enjoy fresh air and a taste of Guatemala. On the menu was plantain, which received a big thumbs up from everyone especially Kayla, who said it tasted just like potato! Even staff joined in the fun.

• Friday 14 November 2025 Digital - Cineworld and Daisy Nook The Digital Pathway had an exciting day the other day.
• Friday 14 November 2025 Debdale Park - Work Experience Last day of work experience for this group of students started by being greeted by the swan family who took great interest in what we were doing.
• Friday 14 November 2025 Communication 1 - 14.11.25 The Communication 1 class have started their topic on the human body. Last week we took a look at some of the major organs of the human body and where they are located.
• Friday 14 November 2025 Breakfast Club - 14.11.25 This week in Breakfast club, we journeyed to Poland and tried a traditional dish called Maczka. While it wasn't quite a hit with our adventurous pupils, we loved giving it a go.

• Friday 7 November 2025 Medlock Gym Our sessions at Medlock Gym are back in full swing this half term for our Sports Pathway students. During this next block they'll be looking to improve their fitness, strength and confidence. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and determination during their first session.

• Friday 7 November 2025 Work Experience Thursdays Pupils from Sports Pathway had their first shift at Debdale Water Sports Centre.
• Thursday 6 November 2025 Dystopian Worlds This week core group 1 started their new English topic ‘Dystopian World'. We are basing our work on The Hunger Games. We have watched clips from the film and talked about what it must be like to live under a dictatorship.
• Thursday 6 November 2025 Sensory 1 - Baking Pupils in Sensory 1 practised their baking and decorating skills making toadstools fairy cakes linking in with our magical mystical theme.
• Thursday 6 November 2025 Kayaking What a fantastic end to our kayaking programme at Debdale Water Centre! Over the last 7 weeks, our students have developed their paddling skills, water confidence and teamwork, all while having plenty of fun on the water. They've also all secured their Start Award from Go Paddling which is a great achievement.
